MWM INTERNATIONAL foresees a growth in exports

The manufacturer of diesel, a leader in Mercosur, engines has estimated a 17% increase in engine exports this year. In 2010, the company exported 30 thousand units; for 2011 the expectation is to export 35 thousand. Maintaining its growth strategy, MWM INTERNATIONAL has expanded its contract to export engines with Daewoo Bus, in South Korea. The company, that beginning in 2012 will begin to export the MaxxForce 3.2H engine – estimates it will attain 25 thousand units by 2014 - and will further export the MaxxForce 7.2H and 9.3H models, which will equip the urban and highway buses with the Euro V emissions technology.


 
 
 



Exports of Big Bore blocks increase approximately 200% compared to the previous year

MWM INTERNATIONAL is exporting more Big Bore MaxxForce 11 and 13 liter blocks to the United States. This year the increase in demand with the supply of 25 thousand units/year represents about a 200% growth if compared to 2010, when 9.500 engines were exported.

The third expansion phase for the Big Bore line, São Paulo (Brazil), will be concluded in 2012 and has received investments of US$ 5.2 million, from the total of US$ 45 million invested since the line was inaugurated. The production capacity will reach 36 thousand blocks a year, with operations on a continuous shift – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The MaxxForce Big Bore equips the heavy trucks for Navistar in the United States, from the WorkStar, TranStar and ProStar lines, and complies with the EPA 10 emissions standard.



 
 
 



The production line for the MaxxForce 4.8H and 7.2H thrusters will be expanded to increase capacity

MWM INTERNATIONAL will invest US$ 76 million between 2011 and 2012 in the MaxxForce 4.8H and 7.2H engine production line, in the plant of São Paulo (Brazil). The company is expanding its present-day facilities, acquiring modern block machining lines, engine heads and making use of high technology in the assembly line to service the demand for the Euro V engines.

One of its differentials will be the setting up of the Common Tracking System, developed by MWM INTERNATIONAL with the aim of monitoring the production process, geared at preventing failures, besides storing all of the necessary data for full traceability of both the process and components. Nowadays, the line´s installed capacity is of 40 thousand engines a year, with a leap to 64 thousand/year expected after the project conclusion.
