Navistar announces new structure in South America
José Eduardo Luzzi assumes as
Managing Director of MWM INTERNATIONAL Motores
Navistar Inc. – a subsidiary of Navistar International Corporation – has established an operations group in South America, aimed at expanding business focused on commercial vehicles, spare parts and other initiatives in the automotive segment of the region.
In charge of the new organization for South America, Waldey Sanchez assumes as President. Over the past five years, W. Sanchez served as President and CEO of MWM INTERNATIONAL Motores and successfully lead Navistar subsidiary’s global business to become, at present, the largest independent manufacturer of diesel engines in Mercosur. In his new position, Sanchez will also be part of the Board of Directors of [NC]² – a joint-venture of Navistar and Caterpillar.
In the light of this transition, José Eduardo Luzzi assumes as Managing Director of MWM INTERNATIONAL Motores, independent diesel engine manufacturer. Lately, Luzzi conducted Navistar Engine Group's Global Business Unit, expanding and diversifying their activities in China, India, South Korea and Turkey. MWM INTERNATIONAL will maintain its quality of independent engine manufacturer, and focus on expanding its customer base and continue to supply engines to current and future Navistar initiatives.
Also within the new structure, Luis Kanan, former director of Parts, MWM INTERNATIONAL Motores, assumed as Managing Director of Parts of the Navistar group in the region. The company will be focused on geographic expansion and comprehensive business, to support any Navistar initiative in South America.
